2023 Seattle Summer Water Polo League

Welcome to water polo!

Water polo is a fun, but quick, summer team that runs mid-July through the end of August. Boys and girls of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate (no experience necessary, but should be a pretty strong swimmer). We try to have as much fun as possible as we work on skills and conditioning. If your child loves sports and swimming, they will LOVE water polo! We have 10U, 12U, 14U, and 18U teams and compete against other SSSL swim clubs. Practices start in July, with games beginning the first week in August.

Championship Week: Week of August 27, 2023

Nothing is more exciting and fun as championship week! The closest examples might be March Madness and the Super Bowl. All the league teams compete to determine each age group and girl’s champion. Sunday through Tuesday is the initial tournament style games that trim 8 or more teams down to 2 in each division. Wednesday & Thursday nights are the Finals that determine the Champions. This is our most important week so if at all possible do not miss this week!

Water Polo Team registration fee is $150.00

Members can log into their Account page and look for the Water Polo team fee, then select your child and make your payment.

Non-members can register here.

Registration fee must be received by the first water polo match in order for your child to be eligible to participate on the team.

Non-Members

Non-members are welcome, and encouraged to join in the fun on a space available basis. WE REALLY NEED as many of your friends from school, sport teams or the neighborhood to help supplement all of our teams.

Water Polo Equipment

Water polo suits, jammers or speedos are highly recommended! Regular swim trunks are slow and give competitors something to hang on to. You can order a ball or water polo suit for your child at swimoutlet.com

Ball sizes for each age group are:

10U: 2
12U: 3 (intermediate)
14U: 4
18U/Seniors: 5

Parent Involvement

It takes many hands to make sure the water polo season runs smoothly. Ways to help are running the table at matches that we host (training provided), providing rides to away games, and helping plan the end-of-season party. Please let the Water Polo Coordinator know if you are interested in helping.
