Board Candidates

Concession Chairs

Candidate: Roxanne Caple & Caitlin Stone

(Current Interim Concession Chairs)

Caitlin Stone and Roxanne Caple share the Concessions Chair position on the GSSC pool board. Caitlin, who joined in 2023, and Roxanne, a member since 2018, both bring a deep love for the pool and community spirit. Caitlin and her family cherish summer evenings by the pool, and Roxanne’s family, including her two kids who swim competitively, consider it their “home away from home” during the summer. Together, Caitlin and Roxanne have worked hard to revamp the snack shack, bringing fresh ideas and enthusiasm. Outside of pool season, Caitlin is a registered nurse, and Roxanne serves as a nurse in the Highline School District, with her summers free to focus on making the snack shack a highlight for pool-goers.

Secretary

Candidate: Elizabeth (Lizzy) Glass

(Current Interim Secretary)

My name is Elizabeth Glass and I am interested in filling the position of Secretary. I grew up in Burien, graduated from Highline Highschool and was an elementary school teacher in the district for 7 years before becoming a mom of 3. As a product and member of this community, I am both eager and excited to become more involved in the pool and give back to this special place. I’m confident in my ability to keep the current operations and tasks of the secretary running smoothly. I look forward to the opportunity to offer my thoughts and skill set to the board.

Thank you!

Candidate: Meghan Finney

My name is Meghan Finney and I want to run for the Secretary position at Gregory Seahurst Swim Club. Our family has been a member since July of 2021 and we have lived in Seahurst since August of 2016. We have used the pool in many different ways over these past few summers such as hanging out for everyday fun, I have utilized lap swim, my daughter has been on both the swim and tennis teams, and my son currently works on the maintenance team and has taught swimming lessons. We have a few birthday parties at the pool and have attended most of the social events and invite friends often to join us. Needless to say, we love our pool community!
For the past 10 years, I have supervised the Cooperative Children’s Center in the University District and am very familiar with how co-op’s work. I spend most of my days working with parents, teachers, and children. I am in charge of hiring new staff and onboarding new families and making sure our enrollment is steady. I keep track of and update the children’s and staff files, send out weekly newsletters, make purchases for the school, facilitate staff meetings, and I assist in facilitating our school’s monthly parent board meetings, as well as create agenda items for these meetings.
I have been the face of my childcare program who welcomes and works with a wide variety of staff, families and their children. I have had to fine tune my communication and correspondence skills in a timely manner both written and in person, as well as stay organized with maintaining best practices when supervising a high-quality childcare program.  I consider myself social, open, thoughtful, and respectful when it comes to sharing my opinions and making decisions. For these reasons, I believe I would be the best candidate for the Secretary Position at Gregory Seahurst Swim Club.

President

Candidate: Jason Liberty

(Current Interim President)

“I have had the privilege of serving as the interim president of GSSC throughout the 2024 season, a year marked by collaboration, growth, and positive change within our community. Together with the GSSC Board and a dedicated pool management team, we undertook various projects to enhance our facilities and organized events aimed at building a stronger, more inclusive community within the club. Drawing from my background as a realtor and my commitment to family values, I’ve worked to foster a welcoming, family-friendly environment that brings our members closer.

Throughout the year, I actively volunteered my time, ideas, and communication skills to ensure these projects succeeded and aligned with our vision for the club’s future. As we look to the next term, I’m excited to continue this momentum and bring new initiatives forward. I appreciate your continued support as I run for GSSC President, and I am eager to keep building a club we’re all proud to be part of.”

Thank you!
